Alexandru Căbuz has obtained a BS in Electrical engineering in the USA and a PhD in computational physics in France. He returned to Romania in 2010 to become involved in the reform of the national research system, and was personal counselor to the president of the National Authority for Scientific Research from 2010 to 2012.
During this period he contributed to the drafting, negotiation and implementation of several reforms of the research system, including the research ethics reform, and the employee inventions’ law. Since 2012 he is active in technology transfer and entrepreneurship, developing the researchforindustry.ro platform, bringing the 3 Day Startup program for the first time to Eastern Europe (Cluj 2014 and 2015), organizing and participating in numerous workshops, conferences and trainings in technology transfer, intellectual property and entrepreneurship. Currently he focuses on developing his own startup in the area of enterprise collaboration.
Soribel grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She attended Brooklyn College of the City University of New York and graduated in 2009 with a degree in Political Science and a minor in French. She also attended the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University, for her Masters’ degrees, in Public Administration and Economics.
She works as an Economic Officer at U.S. Embassy Bucharest, where she works on Entrepreneurship, Trade, Intellectual Property Rights, IT/Telecom and Innovation. She previously worked as a Consular Officer at Embassy Bucharest, where she managed the Summer Work and Travel Program for 2015. Prior to working in Foreign Affairs, she worked at the New York State Assembly and has interned at the U.S. Congress, in the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and at the U.S. Department of State.
She enjoys travelling and exploring different places and cultures. She loves the Romanian language.
Marius Mitroi is currently EU Account Innovation Manager in Deloitte Romania. Before, he has coordinated the INOVARE (Innovation) program in UEFISCDI (Executive Unit for Funding Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation) where he has designed, developed and implemented the financing program for innovation and research, by identifying the best European practices and instruments oriented towards small and medium companies.
He was involved in developing new forms of policy support for innovation and financing instruments (for example: innovation checks; support for the development of new products, systems and technologies; development of the innovation and technological transfer infrastructure; innovation support services; engagement with EU cooperation programs such as EUREKA - EUROSTARS). He coordinated projects regarding entrepreneurship, intellectual property, and clusters funded by programs such as EEA Grants, South-Eastern Europe, INTERREG IVC, FP7 and H2020.
Răzvan Popescu graduated the Faculty of Physics in Bucharest and his doctoral studies in Molecular Biophysics at Pierre et Marie Curie University (Paris VI).
His entrepreneurial career started in 2005 with a real estate business in Bucharest. In 2008, together with his brother Dr. Dragoș M. Popescu, stomatologist, he founded the luxury dental clinic DentalMed, with 100% Romanian capital. The clinic has become a successful business, treating 25.000 patients annually and becoming a supplier of the Royal House of Romania. As Business Development Manager, he positioned DentalMed firmly in the luxury service niche, leading the clinic to a top level of custom-made design, modular multifunctionality and technology, in a single site with a multidisciplinary team.
He is passionate about entrepreneurship, supporting the Clever Taxi startup and dedicating increasingly more time to encourage young people to find the inner strength to chart their own path.
Involved in several entrepreneurship projects and passionate about new technologies, Roxana has laid the foundations of Simplon Romania, an alternative educational project and opened the first market space in Cluj.
She desires to continue her contribution to the development of creative potential and entrepreneurship in Romania based on her professional experience of over 10 years in marketing and education.
Romeo Vasilache obtained a Master's Degree in Business Administration at the School of Leadership and Development of Eastern University, Pensylvania, U.S.A. He also graduated the Banking Diploma program of the Romanian Banking Institute.
He has a very rich experience in sustaining entrepreneurship development in Romania.
For 10 years he worked for one of the biggest microfinancing institutions in Romania and has offered credits to small companies and entrepreneurs with limited access to the financing options from the banking system in the urban areas, as well as the rural ones. He first opened a regional office in Iași, and after that he coordonated the national network, administering a portfolio of over 9000 clients with credits in total of over 50 million U.S. dollars.
Starting in the year 2011 he joined the Romanian American Foundation and is responsible with entrepreneurship programs. Up to today, NGOs have been awarded over 35 non-reimbursible financing packages valued at over 6 million U.S. dollars for implementing projects which help develop entrepreneurship.
